Gorilla Uganda Safari
It was estimated roughly 30 years ago that approximately 600 Mountain Gorillas were on the Earth. Dian Fossey studied Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda’s Volcanoes Park in the 1970s and is responsible for the current protection of the gorillas. The film based on Dian Fossey’s life is titled ‘Gorillas in the Mist.’ According to 2015 data, the overall population of Mountain Gorillas is estimated to be around 800. Approximately 400 are in Bwindi Impenetrable Park in southwestern Uganda. The following 400 are located in the Virunga Volcano Range, which encompasses three National Parks in three countries: Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda, Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, and Virunga National Park in Congo (DRC). There are good chances of sighting gorillas, almost 100 percent.
Gorilla Tracking Experience
Gorilla tracking (also known as gorilla trekking) is a demanding practice that can last up to 5 hours. Your guides take you on a tour of the gorilla’s habitat, discussing facets of their ecosystem and behavior. When you arrive at the gorillas, you have precisely one hour. A porter (someone who will carry your luggage) can be hired for about $30. it will make your experience easier convenient. You are also helping the local public by doing so.
Mountain gorillas
A Silverback is a mature silverback male who always leads the gorilla group. Many amazing birds, monkeys, giant mammals, reptiles, insects, and plants can also be found in the forests. According to the census, the population of mountain gorillas is less than 900 individuals. Still, it has been noticed that the population has increased, indicating strong conservation efforts due to security and gorilla tourism, and thus reduced poaching. Mountain gorillas are frequently spotted in the forest, munching on vegetation while resting or grooming one other. The leader of each gorilla family or group is a silverback, fiercely protective of the family. If he gets irritated, it will make a sound and shatter its breast before fleeing with the female, progenies, and mature males.
Safaris to see gorillas
Safaris to see gorillas are available in Uganda. Gorilla Trekking is possible in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable and Mgahinga Gorilla National Parks. Because of the nature of the landscape, trekking in Bwindi differs somewhat from that in Mgahinga. Bwindi is a densely forested area with few open places, although Mgahinga has some empty spaces in the bamboo zone. To fully appreciate the experience of gorilla trekking, you must plan, beginning with selecting a tour operator to design the complete safari, lodgings, and the purchase of gorilla permits. Because only eight people can hike with a gorilla family, you must obtain your permit well in advance, especially if you desire a specific date.
