The story of your African Safaris Tours!
Day 1
Welcome to Tanzania!
Our guide will meet you at Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer you to Ilboru Safari Lodge, a pleasant lodge with a beautiful garden and swimming pool nestled on the lower slopes of majestic Mount Meru. Tanzania Zanzibar lovely Swahili sanctuary is ideally located on the outskirts of Arusha, tucked away beneath ancient trees. You will stay in a private bungalow that is harmoniously woven into the surrounding African landscape reminiscent of a traditional Swahili home.
TOURS DEPARTING BETWEEN JANUARY AND MAY OR IN NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER, WILL VISIT LAKE MANYARA N.P. ON DAY 2.
Journey Time: 45 minutes
Accomodation: Ilboru Safari Lodge
Day 2
Lake Manyara N.P OR Tarangire National Park
Lake Manyara N.P.
Breakfast will be served early in the morning, followed by a game drive to ‘Mto wa Mbu.’ You will discover a melting pot of cultures, and during your visit, you will get a good sense of the village’s social side – the farms and milling machines, the schools, markets, and churches. You will most likely visit the village banana plantation, as well as a youth art project and a wood workshop where skilled Makonde tribe members carve intricate figurines, masks, and household objects. You could also go to the local market. The Tanzania Zanzibar tour’s duration is flexible, but it usually lasts 2–3 hours. Following the village walk, you will be served a delicious local Swahili meal, which you (can) prepare with the help of a highly respected local woman. Then visit Lake Manyara to see baboons, flamingos, water birds, long-crested eagles, grey-headed kingfishers, and elephant families moving through the forest. Lake Manyara’s famous population of tree-climbing lions is also reason enough to include a visit to this Tanzania Zanzibar in the itinerary.
TOURS DEPARTING BETWEEN JUNE AND OCTOBER WILL VISIT TARANGIRE N.P. ON DAY 2.
Journey Time: 1 hour from Tarangire to ‘Mto wa Mbu’
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Local Lunch, Dinner
Accomodation: Manyara Tortilis Camp
Tarangire National Park
After an early breakfast, you will depart for Tarangire National Park for a game drive. Elephant herds can be seen, as well as leopards, zebras, impalas, warthogs, eland, buffalo, waterbuck, and lions. Birders will have plenty to see as well, with over 500 different bird species present. Outside of the Serengeti, this park has the highest concentration of wildlife. It is also the only place in Tanzania where the oryz and gerenuk can be seen on a regular basis. Then, after a parked lunch picnic stop in the park, go on an afternoon game drive before returning to your Sangaiwe Tented Lodge accommodation.
Journey Time: 2 hours to the park entrance
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Accomodation: Sangaiwe Tented Lodge
Day 3
The Serengeti
The Serengeti
You will have an early breakfast and then drive to the Serengeti park, stopping for an en-route safari. The park is divided into three sections: the Serengeti plains, the Western corridor, and the Northern Serengeti, where you can see millions of wildebeest and zebra migrate during the Great Migration following the ancient rhythm of Africa’s seasons. Then proceed to Serengeti Tortilis camp, a tented camp where you can view the African natural wonders.
Journey Time: 2 hours to the park entrance
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Packed Lunch, Dinner
Accomodation: Serengeti Tortilis Camp
Day 4
Game drives in Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, you will go on a morning game drive to get as close to the wildlife as possible. Because few predators hunt during the day, early morning is the best time to witness the thrill of the chase. Then we’ll have a picnic lunch and enjoy our packed lunch before continuing on with the game drive and returning to your accommodation for dinner and the night.
Optional activity: Hot Air Balloon Safari Serengeti
This optional activity costs US$800 per person.
Fly over the famous Serengeti National Park in a hot air balloon. Tanzania Zanzibar could be the most beautiful area on the planet for a balloon ride. There are no power lines or fences, and there are only a few roads. When you leave your lodge or camp in the morning, your Balloon Safari adventure begins. Tanzania Zanzibar still dark, and you might see some nocturnal animals on your way to the launch site. You meet your pilot and see your balloon being inflated and prepared when you arrive. Because space is limited, this is a one-of-a-kind and exclusive experience. The balloon safari lasts approximately one hour, depending on the weather. This adventure will come to a close with a champagne bush breakfast in the middle of the park!
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Packed Lunch, Dinner
Accomodation: Serengeti Tortilis Camp
Day 5
Game drives in Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater
Breakfast is served early in the morning, followed by an en-route game drive out of the Serengeti towards the Ngorongoro Crater, which has the most wildlife throughout the year and a good chance of spotting ‘The Big 5’: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. Other wildlife includes the serval cat, cheetah, jackal, Grant’s and Thompson’s gazelle, flamingo and bat-eared foxes, and over 400 different bird species. Then, after a picnic lunch, go on an afternoon game drive before returning to your accommodation for dinner and a night’s sleep.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Packed Lunch, Dinner
Accomodation: Ngorongoro Tortilis Camp
Day 6 & 7
Welcome to Zanzibar!
After an early breakfast, our guide will transport you to Arusha airport for your flight with Auric air to Zanzibar Island, a tropical destination surrounded by beaches where you can swim and snorkel. Your flight time is around noon, and you will arrive early afternoon, where you will be met by a fun beach driver who will transfer you to the hotel. Then explore the tropical rainforest of Jozani in the center of the island, as well as some of the many other wonderful beaches, shops, and restaurants nearby, of which there are many!
Journey Time: 1 hour
Meal Plan: Breakfast
Accomodation: Fun Beach Hotel
Day 8 & 9
You start your day with an early breakfast, then walk around Jambiani on the east coast, where you can participate in a variety of optional activities that can be booked through the Fun Beach Hotel’s reception at your own expense.
Swim with dolphins at Kizimkazi
Visit Jozani Forest
Snorkeling
Scuba diving
Sailing on a traditional Dhow
Spice tour
Kite surfing
Visit to the restaurant (The Rock)
Optional activity: visit to Stone town
You can also go to Stone Town, which has spices and colorful markets, as well as an urban sprawl of historic buildings, shops, offices, apartment blocks, crowded slums, and middle-class neighborhoods. You can spend hours wandering through the historic quarter’s maze of narrow streets, easily losing yourself in centuries of history. Every turn reveals something new: a former palace, a Persian bathhouse, a crumbling ruin, a coral-stone mansion with carved doors and latticework balconies, or a school full of children chanting Quran verses. Your hotel can arrange a historical tour or a spice tour for you, but everything is within walking distance, so you can explore on your own if you prefer Tanzania Zanzibar.
Day 10

You will have an early breakfast, and then, depending on when your flight departs, you may have some time today to relax on the beach or explore Stone Town.
